This morning, we woke up early to get ourselves to a 7:00am wedding ceremony. Mas Wahyu, who has been a close family friend almost since we arrived in Indonesia, married Mbak Lusi. The ceremony was at a little kampung church (a kampung in Indonesia is like a village in the city. Houses tightly built together, no yards, narrow streets/alleys that are maze like).
And it was just part of the Sunday morning worship service, something that we love. It makes the whole event very Christ centered. Everyone in attendance came for the usual singing praise, praying, and preaching. The only difference from the typical service was that the couple sat up front in two chairs that were front and center.

After the service, the wedding party traveled for an hour and a half to Mbak Lusi's village where her family awaited for a large traditional ceremony. We weren't able to make that, but look forward to hearing and seeing pictures from Wahyu when they return.
