The peak in the distance is Mt. Semeru, the tallest mountain on Java at over 12,000 ft.
It is actively puffing smoke every ten - twenty minutes, raining ash all around us (you can barely make out the puff in this picture. It's usually a huge plume, but on the day I chose to get a pic, it didn't cooperate). Some days when it gets thick, and especially at night with the car headlights on, it looks like a light snow coming down.
